Metal Data Bank

This engineering Data Bank provides data and models, that are critical to engineering calculations and simulations. Metal industry related business data will also be provided. Currently the engineering data include primarily flow stress models, high temperature property data and the general property data in the room temperature.

High Temperature Properties

This section provide major metal properties at high temperature, which are critical for accurate simulation of metal hot forming processes, as well as for engineering application at high temperature. Those properties are such as:

  • Mean Coefficients of Thermal Expansion 
  • Differential Coefficients of Thermal Expansion
  • Modulus of Elasticity
  • Mean Specific Heat
  • True Specific Heat
  • Electrical Resistivity
  • Thermal conductivity
  • Temperature conductivity

Room Temperature Properties

We also provide metal property data at room temperature, so we have collected around 2000 counts of those property data for you.

Flow Stress

Flow stress is a primary metal property critical to determine load and power requirement during metal forming processes (rolling, forging, drawing, and so on).

Flow stress models provided are as follows:

 We have following model types currently:

  • Model F2: An accurate strain-stress equation for each given temperature and strain rate.
  • Model F2F3: An accurate equation for each temperature, which describes influences of strain and strain rate.
  • Model F2F3a: A simple equation for each temperature, which describes influences of strain and strain rate.
  • Model A: Describing influences of material, temperature, strain and strain rate in a fingle formula.
  • Model B: Modification to the Model A with more accurate strain factors.
  • Model C: Modification to the Model B with more accurate strain rate factors.
