Areas Studied

The technological courses I have completed in the major of Metal Forming covers following areas (see Attended Engineering Technological Courses):

    • Fundamental Lectures (Computer Programming; Mathematical, Physical, Chemical, Philosophical, etc., mainly in first 2 years)

Design assignments in the school include machinery design (designed of a gear box), electric design (designed an electricity distributing board), electronic design (installed a radio set), Technological design (completed a pipe rolling schedule for pipe reducing-tension mill). My BS. Thesis was on the metal surface treatment with spray coating. In the first year of my master study, I prepared my Master thesis (not completed) on application of laser allaying technology in metal surface treatment. During my five-year Ph.D. study, I concentrated on the finite element simulation of various metal deformation processes.

(Metal Forming is particularly useful in manufacturing automobile parts. Steel is one type of Metals. Typical metal forming processes include Extrusion, Drawing, Forging, Rolling, Pressing, etc. Car body and all parts can be produced through Metal Forming. The Lithium Battery manufacturing I also worked on later is one of the primary stage of car building of the modern electric car; the knowhow of a car needs both the engineering and software development to build).
